Beginner Guide for New Players#

Are you new to our modded servers and not quite sure where to start?

No problem! This guide is meant to give you a little support during your first steps.

Your First Login#

When you join the server for the first time, you will automatically spawn at our Spawn.

You can return to the Spawn at any time using the following command:

/spawn

At the Spawn, you will already find several useful things designed to make your start easier.

What Can You Find at the Spawn?#

Let’s simply imagine that you are standing directly at the spawn point and looking straight ahead.

South | In Front of You#

  • the Nether Portal
  • free cow and sheep spawners on the left
  • our free chests with materials and food on the right

These can be used for things such as:

  • food
  • milk
  • wool

Free Materials#

Nearby, you will also find several chests containing free materials.

These include:

  • clay
  • sand
  • gravel
  • food

The chests are refilled automatically.

Feel free to take what you need.

North | Behind You#

In front of the archway, you will find:

  • free pig and chicken spawners on the left
  • the End Portal and the portal to the Mining Dimension on the right

These can be especially useful at the beginning when you need some food.

You can also wait for the chickens to lay eggs.

The Upper Ring#

From the center of the Spawn, you will find one blue block in the floor in each direction.

These blocks work as elevators and take you to the upper ring of the Spawn.

  • Spacebar → go up
  • Shift → go down

On the upper ring, you will find, among other things, our Ore Doubler Rooms.

When you enter one of these rooms and stand on the pressure plate, the door behind you will close automatically. This protects you while using the room and prevents other players from taking your ores.

Time for Your Own Base!#

Once you have looked around the Spawn a little, it is time to find a place for your own home.

You can use the following command:

/rtp

/rtp stands for Random Teleport and teleports you to a random location in the world.

Not happy with the location you got?

Simply use /rtp again and look for another place.

Protect Your Base#

Found a nice spot?

Your next step should be to claim the area using FTB Chunks.

Claims protect your base and help keep your buildings, chests, and machines safe from unwanted access.

Set a Home#

To make sure you do not lose your new base, you should immediately set a home point:

/sethome

You can then return to your home at any time using:

/home

What Now?#

SOOOOO...

You have now completed the most important first steps!

You can now, for example:

  • build your first base
  • gather resources
  • explore the Mining Dimension
  • collect animals and food
  • build machines
  • try out new mods
  • complete quests
  • trade with other players
  • explore our Market
  • collect Bombis
  • or simply enjoy the wonderful landscape of Bomberbude

From this point on, your own adventure begins!

Short Version for the Impatient#

If all of that was a bit too much text:

  1. Look around the Spawn.
  2. Grab some food and materials.
  3. Use /rtp.
  4. Find a nice place.
  5. Claim your base with FTB Chunks.
  6. Use /sethome.
  7. And then: Have fun! :D

If you ever get stuck, simply ask in the chat.

Many things in modpacks seem more complicated at first than they actually are.

Nobody knows every machine, every mod, and every item right away.
